"Overcoming the B-Complex" part 2

“And follow Me”

Luke 9:23d

Dear Beloved:

This B-complex spirit is so strong and so real in the body of Christ that it causes so many that were once strong, faithful and victorious believers to become weak, vulnerable and helpless.  Many in the church all over the nation are being driven and drawn back into their old ways and old nature.  Why is this happening to believers that say they love the Lord?  Jesus gives us the answer in
Matt. 13:20-21, "But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the Word and immediately received it with joy: yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while.  For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the Word, immediately he stumbles."  The amplified says, "Yet it has no real root in him, but is temporary (inconsistent, last but a little while); and when affliction or trouble or persecution comes on account of the Word, at once he is caused to stumble (he is repelled and begins to distrust and desert Him, whom he ought to trust and obey) and he falls away."  So we can say that trouble, difficulty, hardship, pain, persecution and tribulation are tools that God uses to expose our hearts.  Unless the word of God takes root we will not have the power to overcome our own selfish desires and difficulties that arise.  When we have not grown roots in the word of God, it is mainly because we have not opened up fully and surrendered to Him unconditionally and freely. God is working to develop roots for the word to take hold deep down on the inside of our hearts.  Unless the word takes root, we are not truly free and we cannot mature and develop as we should.

There are four areas that are absolute requirements to be strong, to spiritually mature and impact the lives of others in the Lord.  Each believer must fully embrace and live dependent upon these four principles.  They are:

  1. The desire or passion and zeal to come after the Lord daily.
  2. An openness and willingness to surrender and deny yourself daily.
  3. Take up our cross daily.  This means to carry and  bear the burdens that come with trusting, serving  and obeying the Lord.
  4. Follow Him.  To follow the Lord means to live your life on His terms, according to His word.  It means  go where He says go and do what He says do.

We must be willing and ready to give up our will, our opinions, our ways and our patterns to follow His steps and do His works. We must follow Him to the end and finish our course on the earth. Apostle Paul fully understood this as he explains in II Tim.4:6-7,"For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."  Apostle Paul had deep roots in the word of God, in the Kingdom of God and in His relationship with the Lord.  We can learn from his example and know that the Lord will help us through.
